Venting time

How many people can say they are fed up with with certain things in everyday life?

I know I can.  Many people who have had stories told to them from other people (in general) its not true.  I believe that God puts things in your life that you can handle.  Well the welcome is being overstayed.  Its getting on my nerves.  It stinks how some People can talk to other People.   I was taught growing up that you absolutely, don't talk back to your Parents or Grandparents.   In my Family, if you talked back to my Grandma Jojo.  You were picking your tail up off the floor, while you were wiping tears away.

There was also another rule that always gets broken.  Treat people with RESPECT and they will treat you will RESPECT back.  That's not hard to remember.   However I guess People, don't care  other People's feelings.   Which stinks. So, please be kind and treat other people the way you want to be treated.

Father's Day Yard Work

Father's Day Yard work

I love doing the Holiday Yard Work.  It is so much fun to see how I recreate the ideas that I have drawn out on paper.  It relieves stress when I do the ban saw, sander, and then paint it.  I come up with different designs for each holiday.

Update on Mama (part 10)

Update on Mama (Part 10)

3-25-21

Mommy is doing much.  She is getting some what back to her old self.  She has been helping the nurses to transfer from bed to the wheelchair and back again.  She has been standing up on her good leg with the walker.  She has beencalling up and checking up on us.

She had been asking for some loving and get well cards.  She informed Dad today that she has gotten at least 40 get well cards.  Which I think has been her mind.  She also didn't realize that she would be getting that many or more.  For the ones of you, who have already sent cards to her, Thank you so much!

She has a doctor's appointment (wellness check up) on Friday to go an see the surgeon, who did her surgery.  She has a total of 20 staples in the bottom of her foot.  This past weekend, she called me and told that she was getting pretty.  I asked her how, she said she was getting her nails painted pink and purple.  Which mom is not a girly girl.  So she must be having fun.  Oh, an one other thing.  Mom shaved her head.  She has not hair.  She was getting tired of dealing with the hair.  So, she shaved it off.  She is also wearing cancer beanie hats.  SHE DOES NOT HAVE CANCER.    She didn't want to put up with it and her foot.

Dealing with Family Members who has had a Stroke

Dealing with a Family Member who has had a Stroke

Many People have known someone close to them - as a loved one or a friend, who had suffered from a stroke.  As you guys know, some strokes can be very deadly & can kill someone.  Then you have the strokes that show signs/ paralysis.  Then you have the strokes that shows NOTHING!!!  You don't even know that you have had one until you have an MRI / CAT Scan done.  Then the doctors share the news with you.

That is what happen with Heather and my mom.  None of us knew what was going on. Neither one had signs/ symptoms or paralysis.  So, we didn't know.  Heather had her stroke in May 2020.  She kept saying her head hurt, that's all was said.  She also kept asking where she was.  Which didn't throw up a red flag.  Then she kept acting out.  However, we didn't think anything about it.  It got harder and harder for her to explain the way she was feeling.

So, she went to ARMC to find out what was going on.  That is where she did the MRI and found out she had a stroke (ischemic) on the right side of her brain.  Which the part of her brain where she had her stroke had died.  Then while in the hospital, she had several mini strokes.  She sometimes has trouble remembering things.  When she got back home, its day and night the way she acts.  One moment she acts like a young child and then at a flip of the switch, she is to somewhat normal.  This has been going on almost a year.  Its going to be a long recovery process for her to be able to try to get back to normal, if that happens.

Now with Mama, it's somewhat different.  Mom had no signs/ symptoms or paralysis to show that she had a stroke.  However she went in for other reasons.  They did an MRI to see was causing her to talk out of mind.  That was when they found out that she did have a stroke.  She also was having an internal reaction to an antibiotic that was being give through a PICC Line ( that goes directly into the heart).  The antibiotic was slowly killing her and shutting everything down.  She had trouble explaining what she wanted us to do or help her with.

Its going to be a long recovery for Mom, she has to do Physical & Occupational Therapy for her foot and then for her stroke.  As of right now, while in rehab - she shows no signs of any paralysis.  Which is great.  Mom is trying her best to start moving around, however she has to stay off her foot 4 to 6 weeks.  She loves her nurses.  She has a checkup with her foot doctor on Friday.   She is even getting pampered.  She got her nails painted.  However there is one big thing that I haven't mentioned is that she has shaved her head.  The reason she did it was she didn't have to deal with that and her foot, too.

I just had to write something about this.  I have been looking into this lately and seen that "the researchers found that among mothers who had a stroke, the risk for a stroke was highest among their daughters."   Which I have found to be very interesting.  Some kinds of strokes have a genetic component that can be tested.  It can be common for many people in your family to have strokes, because of the increase stroke risk.  I also didn't know that strokes can be inherited.  You learn something new everyday.

Please take care of yourself. Take it easy.

As I found information that I find is very useful and interesting.  I will continue to post it.  Thank you for allowing me to vent and educate you at the same time.

Update on Momma (part 4)

3-3-21

Mom had been moved to another room. Dad is hanging out with her, today.  She has been barely eating.  But she has been drinking Strawberry smoothies.  So today, for lunch Dad ordered her a hamburger & mashed potatoes.  He looked away.  When he looked back at her, she had picked up the hamburger and was holding it.  She was feeding herself mashed potatoes with a spoon. Dad also talked to the doctor, her surgery is still on for tomorrow.

Please continue to pray for her and the doctors, who are doing the surgery.

Update on Momma (part 3)

3-1-21

On Sunday, Dad went to visit her and took her some goodies from the house.  She had an allergic reaction to one of the antibiotics that she was taking through the PICC line.  So, it's a internal reaction to the medicine.  Right now, she is slowly but surely turning around.

When I talked to her.  She knew my voice and started getting choked up.  But, when Dad walked in the room.  She yelled, Yeah!  Which the nurse thought it was cute.  Then the nurse could barely get her to eat.  Dad fed her & she ate almost every thing.

Dad went today for a visit & they are still going to do her surgery on Thursday.  But Dad said, he can see a slight change in her.  Her vocabulary had improved since last Thursday.

Update on Momma (part 2)

2-27 - Update

Yesterday Dad took mom to the ER in Hillsborough, the doctor did a MRI on her.  It came back that she had a stroke a while back. But, they didn't know how long.  But she was still acting like she was a toddler.  So they made the decision to take he to the main campus of UNC.  So she can be there already for her surgery Thursday or if they need to do the surgery earlier.

I spoke with the nurse this morning.  She said, she was about the same.  She was complaining about her stomach hurting, so they were having a ultrasound done.

Please continue to pray for her and allof the family.

I will keep everyone updated as I find out.

Thank you! Love each and everyone of you!❤😞🙏

Update on Momma

2-26

She checked her sugar several times this morning, it was between 55 & 65. She wasn't freaking out.  She was calm, cool and collective.  We did our normal routine medicines & eating. Still not up.  So Dad called the doctor & the doctor said to take her to the er.  So Dad loaded her up & they are at the hospital in Hillsborough, as we speak running test.

Will keep everyone posted.

Thank you for your continued prayers

Very Concerned Daughter

A very concerned Daughter

I am pretty sure people have seen my post about me.  However I haven't posted anything lately about my parents.  Well here is something that is very concerning to me and I want answers.  But until I talk to the doctor, I have you blame idea what is going on.  Here is a little background, Mom has had several health issues a she has beat them.

Well, she is a diabetic- she takes insulin shots everyday.  With her being a diabetic- she has to keep a check on her feet.  A couple of weeks ago, she started complaining about her feet hurting.  So, I checked it out and found a splinter in it.  Not know how long it had been there.  I removed it and placed a band aid on it.  Which in turn she was still complaining about it.  I checked it out again and from the middle of her foot to her heel, she had infection in it.  So, on Valentine's Day, Dad took her to the the ER.  They proceed to run test and then they admit her to the Hospital.

She was there for a whole week.  In the process of that she had to have a PICC line inserted into her arm that takes the antibiotics straight to her heart.  Then she came home & Dad started giving her the medicines.  On Tuesday evening, she started repeating herself 3 & 4 times.  Then Wednesday Morning (around 3:40 am), she woke all of us up to tell us, she felt like she was dying.  I looked at her & proceeded to tell her she wasn't going anywhere.  Because she was to mean & stubborn.  All she did was laugh.

Then the nurse came out to the house to take blood & proceeded to change her foot dressing.  I mentioned to the nurse about what she did.  The nurse asked if she got UTI, really bad.  I told her she hadn't complained about hurting.  Then Dad takes her to the wound center for the doctor to check on her foot.  The Doctor told Dad, I don't like the way her foot looks.  The Doctor said, she needs to have surgery on her foot ASAP.  So next Thursday, Mom will be having surgery,

Getting back to the way she talks.  Her words are very scrambled.  It's like she was scrambled brain.  She is trying to get a point across or tell us something to do & it comes out another way.  It makes her frustrated because she can't get her point across.

So, I believe the conclusion, is that the infection in her blood that is causing her to talk crazy. I pray that is all.

Please pray for me and family as we try to work through this situation.  And to help mom get better.  Any question, please feel free to message me on Facebook.   I will keep everyone updated on how she is and the surgery went.

So Fed up!!!!!!

2-22-2021

People have been telling me, that there was nothing wrong with me.  I started to believe them.  From 4th - 12th grade, I was verbally bullied and I hated every bit of it. My classmates thought it was funny to call me fat, ugly, bad words, and many just have hatred words to say.  However, I tried everyday, every single hour.  I tried to be invisible.  However, it never worked.  When I was in gym, they would make fun of me doing the exercises that we were supposed to do. When I was in the classroom, they would make fun of me sitting in the desk.  Saying that I wouldn't be able to fit.  I hated every bit of it.

I tried to make friends with them, however that didn't work.  It made it even more worse.  I had crushes on guys.  However they didn't see me like that.  I was even being bullied by them.  Which is the worse feeling.  That is why I never dated, or gone out with a group of friends.  I had trouble even going to a dance (middle school and high school).  Let me take that back, (sorry)!  I did go out with one guy and went to my junior prom. We only for at least 2 weeks.  For my senior prom, I went by my self.  It was okay, I guess.  I think I danced with 1 guy that whole night.  The other times, I just sit by myself.   Which is how it always was at the dances.

I have even been bullied in college and at some places where I had worked.  It completely has been so bad, that i had wanted to crawl in a corner like a ball and just cry.  And now I so many issues making friends and trusting them, that it's hard for me to explain why I am so quiet.  I still have trouble getting it out of my mind. I think that someone who has been verbally bullied all those years, wouldn't end up with some mental issues.  I believe that someone like that could end up with PTSD, Depression and Anxiety.  I have maybe all 3.  But I know I have 2 of the 3.  IT STINKS, for someone that age to be going through that.

I have been out of school since 1996.  An to this day, I still remember the people that caused most of the issues.  I have forgiven them, however I have not forgotten who you are.  I have trouble talking to them in passing, because I want them to wondering "Why isn't she talking to me?"  or "Why is she ignoring me?"  And I just some times walk away.  And let them figure it out.

Please talk to your School age kids about bullying.  I hate to even see, kids now days who are killing themselves because someone is bullying them.  It breaks my heart.  I wish I could, do something about it.  However, I am only one person in a great big world.

Not hitting my GOALS!!

 Not hitting my GOALS!!!

As most of you know, I have been trying to lose weight.  However other things have appeared in the process.  Not allowing me to do what I want to do.  And it SUCKS!  I have been doing keto since August 3rd, 2020.

When I first started, I figured that I would not try to keep it up.  I have tried my best.  I mean since August, when I weighed 357 until now.  Which my weight is 309.  So a total of 48 lbs lost.  And I don't know how many inches.

I can tell that there is a change.  However, with the knee injury and now the issue with my heart.  I so want to get up and go walking to the church and back.  I can't do anything until I get the test results back.  It has been so scary.

I have challenged myself to this point.  I am very determined to get to my goal, which is under 200.  So I have a total of 109 lbs left to lose.

There are some other things that is not working for me:  1. The weather,  2. Staying on Kaleb and his homework, 3. Helping my parents & worrying about their health, and 4. Dealing with my sister.

It is weighing on me.  I can't understand why I am built to handle situations like this.  It beyond my wild dreams.  I have been taught that God can only give you as much as you can handle.  I have been trying my best for the last 3 years or more.  I will eventually build up and I will probably go CRAZY or shut down.  Hopefully neither one.

PLEASE PRAY FOR ME AND MY FAMILY AS WE FIGURE THIS OUT.

I know everyone here has had a loved one affected by heart disease or has had someone who has had a Heart attack.  Or they have had issues with their heart or a stroke.

So, with February being Heart month.  This month has really opened my eyes.  My Grandfather Leighton had a heart attack.  My husband has had 2 heart attacks.  My 39 year old sister had a stroke.  And now me having tachycardia, it's scary as heck.

Health issues

 Health issues

I have been trying to figure out how to explain what I have been dealing with this last week.  On Tuesday, I had a scare.  I was eating supper when I started feeling funny.  It felt like my heart was jumping out of my chest.  It was scary.  So, we called Faucette Fire Department.  The fire fighter checked me out.  He said I can call for an ambulance or what do you want to do.

I asked Dad if he drive me to Chapel Hill hospital - Hillsborough Campus.  He said, yes let's go.  When I got there,  I went directly back to getting my vitals done.  I got hooked up on the EKG.  Then I had to go out in the lobby.  And I waited until at least a hour or more.

I got called back & hooked up to so many machines.  While the nurse was in the room,  my heart was just a racing.  My pulse rate would go from 50 to 115.  Then the doctor came in & he was checking out the machine.  He asked are you feeling that.  I said, not really.

He said, you are showing signs of tachycardia.  Which is, A rapid heart beat that may be regular or irregular, but is out of proportion to the age and level of exertion or activity.  A fast heart rate can have causes that aren't due to underlying disease.  Examples include exercise, fear, anxiety, stress, anger or love.

Now, I have to watch what I eat.  I have to write down when I have a spell.  It feels funny when it happens.  I have to go to the Cardiologist on January 29, to see what they say.  Please say a prayer for me, while the doctors figure out what is going on.  I will keep everyone posted.

My BIG heart!

My BIG Heart!

Many People don't know that much about me.  And wonder why I have such a BIG heart.  I have always wanted to help other people.  When I was younger, we lived in a older home my Great Grandparent's home.  We had people that helped us, a lot with food and other items.

When we got older, it was a little harder.  We still had trouble.  Then several years ago, we found ourselves living in a hotel (2 times).
  • The first time we got behind on our bills and Dad lost his job.
  • The second time we were evicted from where we were staying.
While staying in the hotel, we were making it paycheck to paycheck.  So we had to find extra help friends gave me a list to some food pantries, that are located at local churches.

***People may think they are goodie, goodie to ask for help from churches or anywhere.  If you need help don't hesitate to ask.  People are out there and want to help.

Then while staying in the hotel the second time.  One of Timmy's buddies parents found out that we were homeless and living in a hotel.  They contacted Timmy they wanted to by us a house.  And all we had to do was to pay it forward.  I'm trying to say that if you need anything or any help, if I have it I will try to help.

***Take it from someone who hates to ask for help.  It stinks and sucks.***

***We wouldn't be where we are today with or without help.***
